At least three gorillas at a safari in San Diego, California, have been infected with COVID-19, according to RT. It was the first case of gorillas in the United States, and the gorillas were most likely infected with COVID-19 from employees with asymptomatic disease. The US Department of Agriculture's veterinary laboratory said eight members of the gorilla at the zoo were being tested and re-examined after three were tested positive on Monday.
"While test results confirm infection among some animals, they cannot overlook the presence of the disease among other members," Safari wrote in a statement. They need to increase the health checks of garden workers. According to park executive Lisa Peterson, the gorilla is now healthy but is experiencing human-like symptoms such as suffocation and coughing. They are now being treated, fed and isolated as the zoo hopes they will recover soon.
