Very good! The Elephant Temple on the ridge of Kulen Mountain has been completed.

 


The Department of Preservation of Temples outside Angkor Park of the APSARA Authority has completed the restoration of the Damrei Krab temple on Phnom Kulen, which is in a state of disrepair. The walls were cracked, and the east door frame collapsed and parts of the roof were damaged.

These damages are caused by human factors, nature and age, which are the main reasons such as: there are criminals digging the foundations of the temple, the roots of the trees grow, tear the walls and roof of the temple, and some trees fall on the temple.

During the restoration work, the team strengthened the decaying branches at the four corners, prepared the western part that collapsed, sprayed the seedlings and cleaned the tree roots that grew on the walls and roof of the temple to stop the growth of trees.

In addition, repair and strengthen the roof, door frame on the east corner of the temple at the first and second loops, install the diamond pillars back to their original position, and move to strengthen the front stairs, close the cracked walls, and repair the pillars on the east side. The west will re-clean the land at the first root, clear the water level and make drainage ditches.
