The World Health Organization says there is no evidence that Covid 19 can originate outside of China.

 

According to the Japanese newspaper NHK, the World Health Organization (WHO) has stressed that there is no evidence that coronavirus (COVID-19 virus) originated outside of China. The first case of COVID-19 was reported in Wuhan, China in early December 2019. But earlier this month, an Italian institute released the results of a study showing that the virus may have already been leaked in Italy by September 2019.

Despite such studies, Michael Ryan, head of the World Health Organization's emergency health program, said on Friday that he thought it was "certain" that the disease did not appear in China. This is according to his comments when responding to journalists from the Chinese media. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said an international team would travel to Wuhan to investigate the source of the virus, without specifying a time.
