North Korean Ambassador to the United Nations Kim Song has slammed the Security Council of the world's largest body, calling Pyongyang's space program a "threat." And North Korea even calls it one of the most influential institutions at the UN, undemocratic and biased. This was quoted from Yonhap News Agency on Saturday morning, November 21, 2020.
Kim Song, head of North Korea's diplomatic mission to the UN, made the remarks at this week's UN General Assembly, calling for reforms in the UN Security Council. This one can be a representative for the member countries as well. The backlash came after the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) called North Korea's space exploration program "a threat to the world."
The UNSC has a total of 15 member countries, of which five are permanent members: the United States, China, Russia, Britain and France. While Japan, Brazil, Germany and India are seen as pushing themselves to become permanent members of the UNSC, North Korea has been quick to oppose Japan's candidacy, citing its past history.
