Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology HE Lim Kean Hor, on the afternoon of January 6, gave a courtesy call on Mr. Patrick Patrick Murphy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Cambodia.
The Minister informed the US Ambassador of the progress on water resources and meteorology in Cambodia. Through this development, the farmers' productive work has been improved.
Obviously, this year, although Cambodia was affected by the El Niាតុo phenomenon, which has been hotter and the rainfall reports were poor, but due to irrigation infrastructure, the paddy rice industry has been doing well and now farmers are doing well. Some are continuing to grow more dry season rice.
The minister informed the Ambassador that the ministry is currently working to develop more irrigation infrastructure to meet the water needs of farmers in the context of a global climate change. At the same time, the Ministry is also compiling data on water and meteorology to provide technical basis for the study and development of the next generation of youth.
The Minister also asked the Ambassador to consider the possibility of assisting the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology in particular for technical work.
The US Ambassador expressed his thanks to the Minister for giving him the opportunity to meet and talk.
In response to the request of the Minister of Water Resources, the Ambassador will examine the possibility of cooperating with the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology in particular.
