Mr. Trump warns Iran of large-scale retaliation and threatens to punish Iraq

US President Donald Trump on Sunday threatened massive retaliation if Iran retaliated against the United States for killing a key military commander, and warned of huge economic sanctions against allied Iraq if the country expelled troops. America based there.

The repeated threats came when Iran announced it would reduce compliance with an international nuclear agreement, ending restrictions on the number of separators used to enrich uranium.
The latest issue on the deal, which exacerbates the regional crisis, is the death of Iranian general Qasem Soleimani in Baghdad.

Mr. Trump ordered the US drone to fire Soleimani, one of the most influential people in the Iranian government, as he approached the international airport in the Iraqi capital.

Trump, meanwhile, has warned Iran against retaliation, reiterating that US bombing targets could include Iran's cultural heritage sites. However, critics said it would be a war crime under international law.

"Whatever they do, there will be a great revenge," Trump told reporters on Air Force One when he returned to Washington.

Mr. Trump has already threatened to bomb 52 unmarked targets in Iran if Tehran attacks U.S. troops and US interests in the region.

At the same time, the situation in neighboring Iraq, an ally of the United States, has also deteriorated, with the future of about 5,200 US troops there in doubt.

Many Iraqis have expressed anger over the killing of Soleimani, a powerful Iranian national. A top Iraqi military figure, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, was also killed in the American attack.

In Baghdad, unidentified attackers fired two rockets on Sunday, hitting near the US Embassy in the Green Zone for the second consecutive night.
