WHO chief urges rich nations to stop vaccinating people and donate to poor countries

GENEVA, May 14 (IANS) The World Health Organization (WHO) on Friday urged rich countries to suspend Kovid-19 vaccination of children and return them to donors instead of donating doses to poor countries. Infection with Kovid-19 in the second year seems to be very dangerous.

World Health Organization (WHO) President Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has expressed outrage that some rich countries are already vaccinating children and healthy people, while poor countries have just started vaccinating Kovid-19 against health workers and vulnerable groups. Still suffering.

Tedros said:

In January I talked about the potential for moral catastrophe. Unfortunately, a small number of rich countries are now rushing to vaccinate low-risk groups. I understand why some countries want to vaccinate their children and adolescents, but for now I urge them to reconsider and give the vaccine to the COVAX program. Because in low- and middle-income countries, the supply of Kovid-19 vaccine is not enough, even for health workers, and hospitals are popping up with patients in need of treatment.

According to AFP, nearly 1.4 billion doses of the vaccine were distributed to at least 210 countries around the world, while 44% were administered in high-income countries, accounting for 16% of the total. Total population in the world. And only 0.3 percent is controlled in the 29 lowest-income countries, accounting for 9 percent of the world's population.
