Many officials received positive Covid-19 from residents during gift distribution

     Phnom Penh: Mr. Keut Chhe, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh, claimed that the Armed Forces and some local officials became infected with Covid19 when distributing gifts to people living in the red area when Phnom Penh was LockDown in the past.

In the press conference on the morning of May 6, 2021, the Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh highlighted that in addition to the officials who distributed donations in the red area, there are also some officials who guard or stand at the medical center. Covid was also infected.

In addition to the discovery of the 19 cases of Covid, Mr. Keut Chhe said that some officials are also being arrested after going to work in the danger zone. He said that in some areas, during the distribution, the ambulance of the hospital came down to those with positive Covid 19 among those waiting to receive donations.

Mr. Keut Chhe said, "In general, we have infected military officers, police officers and some officers who need to be vaccinated, so usually those who come in contact with people with Covid disease have to be sedated and sometimes they are distributing gifts when an ambulance comes to pick them up."
