The Prime Minister of Cambodia has issued a new sub-decree on the prevention of Covid-19 disease. The measures set out in the new sub-decree include a measure of eviction.
Article 4 of Sub-Decree 57 states that travel from the residence may be prohibited except in certain cases.
Necessary conditions to be allowed out of the home include shopping for food, going to the hospital, going to the pharmacy, going to work, going into business, going for the Covid-19 virus test, and getting the Covid-19 vaccine.
Permission to leave the residence due to the necessary conditions mentioned above is limited, that is, can not travel for 24 hours as before. Article 8 of Sub-Decree 57 states that all travel permitted in Article 4 shall not take place between "8:00 pm and 5:00 am".
At the same time, Article 8 still allows travel between 8 pm and 5 am in some cases, such as health problems that need to go to the hospital immediately, necessary and urgent in the family, transport goods, to fill Obligations that serve the public interest, to the workplace or business. Article 8 also states that other cases may be allowed to travel between 8 pm and 5 am, with the permission of the authorities.
It should be noted that this sub-decree aims to determine administrative measures in accordance with the law on measures to prevent the spread of Covid 19 and other vicious and dangerous diseases to protect the lives of citizens, public health and public order, Minimize the impact of this infection on the social and economic sectors in Cambodia.
However, Kim Santepheap, a spokesman for the Ministry of Justice, explained that the measures in the new sub-decree were not immediately implemented, requiring a separate decision from the government or the capital-provincial level.
