BANGKOK: Thai Air Force drones are being patrolled along the border with Myanmar to monitor illegal border crossings as well as prevent the spread of Covid 19.
The Thai Armed Forces' Emergency Operations Security Center has begun implementing various restrictive measures, including the use of drones, the installation of surveillance cameras, the installation of barbed wire fences at entry points and the addition of military police. In addition, inside Thailand, police are being deployed to inspect businesses and factories that employ migrants in order to search for those who have entered the country illegally.
Tightening measures at the border came after Thai authorities found three people illegally crossing the border from Myanmar unchecked and infected with Covid 19 virus.
