Needing to make an emergency landing, an airplane spilled fuel over the school


(Scroll down for video) A passenger jet was spilling fuel on several school grounds while it was urgently required to land at Los Angeles International Airport, according to the BBC. At least 60 people, including children and adults, are being treated for skin and breathing problems. According to the aviation law, fuel may be drained in case of emergency landing, but only on designated areas and at high altitude.
Delta Airlines flight returned to the airport due to engine problems. At the Park Elementary School in Cudahy, 26 kilometers east of the airport, all injuries were minor.
According to the Los Angles Times, two children were playing outside as the aircraft spilled fuel. Delta Airlines said in a statement that the passenger jet was fueled to reduce its weight on landing.
