In just three days, from October 15 to 17, 2021, Battambang province suffered from a typhoon that hit the highlands at the head of the Sangke River and flooded the rivers in the region. Kha Leu flooded more than 2,000 houses and more than 232 hectares of crops.
The three-day floods affected a total of 2,460 homes, more than 232 hectares of industrial crops, vegetables and mixed crops, and 1,300 hectares of rice fields were harvested. 13 hectares flooded, 37 pumps, 16,100 meters of dirt roads and 1,200 meters of rubber roads.
Currently, the Sangker River floods have affected six districts, including: Samlot, Rattanak Mondul, Banan, Sangke, Battambang, and Ek Phnom districts. So far, the flood situation in Stung Sangke has gradually returned to normal.
