The second holiday of Pchum Ben has more than 270,000 visitors, a total of more than 420,000 tourists in two days

 Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Tourism on October 7, 2021 confirmed that, according to the summary report received from the Department of Tourism, the second day of the Pchum Ben festival is on the 6th day of the month. In October 2021, a total of 271,428 tourists visited the country, including 269,513 nationals and 1,915 domestic foreigners. For a total of 2 days, the total number of guests was 420,441.

The Ministry of Tourism emphasizes that the main tourist destinations for Pchum Ben include:

Kampot Province 36,748 people

33,717 people in Kep province

* Preah Sihanouk Province 32,272 people

* Pursat Province: 26,560 people

* Battambang Province 19,138 people

* Kampong Cham Province 18,564 people

* Kampong Speu Province 14,854 people

* Siem Reap Province 12,096 people.

The Ministry of Tourism said that this figure has increased by about 82.15% compared to the first day yesterday. The flow of visitors on Pchum Ben is strong, with tourist destinations across the country welcoming domestic tourists, especially in the coastal areas of Kampot, Kep and Sihanoukville, and northwest and north, such as Pursat, Battambang, Siem Reap. With Kampong Speu and Kampong Cham provinces (with the exception of Kampong Chhnang province, which continues to suspend resort operations).

Along with the influx of tourists across the country, a small number of tourist destinations are attracting a large number of tourists, such as Anlong Chrey resort in Ponhea Krek district, Tbong Khmum province, which has exceeded the maximum load capacity and differs from the tourism safety rules and minimum standard operating procedures (SOP). In this case, the Tbong Khmum Provincial Administration, the Department of Tourism of Ponhea Krek District Administration, decided on Wednesday evening to temporarily suspend the Anlong Chrey resort, pending better management arrangements.

For destinations such as beaches in Kep and other provinces, the provincial administration, the Department of Tourism is also working to educate tourists and traders to participate in the implementation of the "3 Do 3 and 3 protection" and tourism safety rules and SOP and avoid Large gatherings crowded.

Regarding security, safety, order, service and food prices, and environment-hygiene, etc., there were no major problems for the past two days, with the Capital-Provincial Administration and relevant departments cooperating in educating, guiding and stationing at key locations.
