NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - curry soups that contain enormous amounts of fenugreek can help increase a woman's sex drive, according to a new study.
Researchers in India report that curry, a popular plant in Indian cuisine, helps increase libido by reducing problems such as vaginal dryness in healthy women.
Experts administered organic Fenugreek called FenuSMART (FHE) to 24 menstruating women between the ages of 20 and 48.
Compared to those who did not eat curry, women increased libido, decreased arousal and increased estradiol, a female sex hormone.
Estradiol helps increase libido in women and facilitates regular menstrual cycles.
In postmenopausal women, it can reduce various discomforts such as vaginal dryness, sexual dysfunction, sweating, hot flashes, insomnia, mood swings and depression.
