The latest case of Covid 19 infection in Wuhan, Hubei province in central China, has been linked to the Indian "Delta" mutation virus, local government officials said at a news conference on Wednesday.
Wuhan on Monday reported seven positive cases among migrant workers. Genetics of two of the seven cases have been completed and show a strong resemblance to the recently discovered Indian Delta virus in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu.
Since July 31, Hubei Province has recorded 19 cases of Covid in 15 communities, of which 12 were found in Wuhan.
Meanwhile, in another press conference on Tuesday, the Hubei provincial government revealed that the community-related cases were related to the outbreak in Jiangsu province, according to epidemiological tests and genetic test results.
In the aftermath of the Covid 19 disaster, Wuhan did not report any community-related infections for more than a year as of Monday, as the Chinese city launched a nationwide virus testing campaign on Tuesday after the outbreak. Again.
