India becomes world's first country with over 400,000 Covid cases

 India on Saturday reported 401,993 cases of Covid -19 infection in the last 24 hours.

It is the first time the country has recorded more than 400,000 cases in a single day.

That brings India to a total of more than 19 million cases of Covid -19 since the outbreak, and it is the 10th day in a row that India has more than 300,000 cases.

India also became the first country in the world to record more than 400,000 cases in a single day.

India also reported 3,523 Covid deaths, bringing the total to 211,853. It was the fourth day in a row that the daily death toll exceeded 3,000.
