Thailand breaks Covid record with 2,179 new infections

 The death toll from Covid-19 in Thailand peaked on Tuesday after the Department of Infectious Diseases reported 2,179 new infections and 15 deaths.

Of the 2,179 new cases, 2,149 were community-based infections, 25 were detected through active testing, and five were imports.

Meanwhile, 25,973 patients are being treated in hospitals.

As of Tuesday, Thailand had a total of 59,687 cases of Covid infection, 163 deaths and 33,551 cases.
