On July 21, an 80-year-old Thai woman living in Phattalung province was recently raped by a man who used to live near her house.
The 80-year-old told reporters that on the day of the incident, while she was selling banana cakes, a man in his 50s said sweetly that he had been interested in her since he was a child. The man then said that he wanted to buy the Ansam, but had to go with him to take the Ansam to his relative's house. And without thinking much about it, he agreed to sell it for 2,000 baht (about $ 63).
The victim added that while traveling on a quiet street, she stopped at a half-built house. He immediately realized the man's true intentions and tried to escape, but failed. He told the man, "OK," and after the rape, the man even stole his wallet.
However, after the incident, the victim was suspended at home and her grandchildren also filed a complaint for police to arrest the man.
And on October 2, police reported that they had collected tapes from security cameras and were questioning witnesses for further clues, hoping to lead to the man's arrest soon.
It should also be noted that the 80-year-old grandmother asked her grandchildren to complain to the police because she was sorry for her bag.
