On September 11, 2020, the police arrested a young man and brought him to take legal action in connection with a case of having sex with a minor in Kampong Os village, Kampong Os commune, Ponhea Leu district.
The young man who was arrested by the police was named Muon Vannet, 19 years old, Khmer, home occupation, residing in Kampong Os village, Kampong Os commune, Ponhea Leu district, Kandal province. The victim was a 14-year-old Cambodian girl named KK, a student.
According to the police, during 2017, the victim girl and Muon Vannet had been having an affair for almost 3 years. Until August 2020, at 14:00, the victim girl came to the house of the suspect named Muon Vannet, and then the girl did not go home, then the girl's parents came to pick up their daughter Its back home.
On the same day, in August 2020, the victim girl returned to the house of the suspect named Muon Vannet again, during which time the suspect named Muon Vannet slept together and had sex with her once. The girl's parents also brought their daughter home. Then, on September 6, 2020, at 2:00 PM, the victim girl ran to live in the house of the suspect named Muon Vannet for the third time, and then the suspect named Muon Vannet lived together and had sex with each other. 2 more times.
Sources said that later, on September 8, 2020, the victim's father went to file a complaint with the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Interior. On September 11, 2020, the Police Department of the Ministry of Interior transferred the complaint to the Police Inspectorate of Ponhea Leu District for further action after receiving a complaint from the specialized force in cooperation with the Kampong Os Commune Police Force called the suspect Muon Vannet. During the interrogation at the Ponhea Leu District Police Inspectorate, the suspect, Muon Vannet, confessed that he had indeed had sex with the victim girl. The suspect is currently being held at the Ponhea Leu District Police Inspectorate for further proceedings.
