Brazil reported on Sunday that the total number of COVID-19 cases nationwide had risen to more than 4,732,30, as more people flocked to the area for sunbathing. Sao Paulo, Brazil's most populous state, remains the epicenter of the COVID-19 virus, with more than 972,100 cases and more than 35 deaths. It is followed by Rio de Janeiro with more than 262,000 cases and more than 18,200 deaths.
Brazil has the highest COVID-19 infection rate and death rate in Latin America and ranks third in the world after India overtook it a few weeks ago. While the United States continues to rank first.
