PARIS: French authorities have deployed about 1,000 firefighters, four helicopter gunships and several troops to search for at least nine people missing after heavy rains. Himalayas attacked the mountains bordering Italy.
The storm, which brought heavy rains to southeastern France and northern Italy, caused massive flooding along the border between the two countries.
The floods have caused severe damage to some villages around the southern French city of Nice, with some 10,500 homes without electricity and some people without electricity. Another was reported dead.
