WHO chief says 19 cases of Covid are now at record high after nearly doubling the number of cases

The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) has called for more international support for the distribution of the 19 Covid vaccine to prevent a worrying increase in infections and deaths.

Worldwide, the number of weekly new infections has nearly doubled in the past two months and is at an all-time high, Teddy Adhanom Ghebreyesus told reporters on Friday. Since the epidemic.

The WHO says about 4.5 million cases have been reported per week since April 5, and the death toll has risen since mid-March.

The report says global cases reached a one-week high since Jan. 4, with nearly 5 million cases.

Tedros said some countries that once avoided the outbreak are now seeing an increase in cases.

He said those countries included Papua New Guinea and experts were sent there to support the government with infection control.

So far, there have been a total of 140,502,944 cases of 19 cases of measles worldwide and 3,011,474 deaths.
