Scientists find planet-like planet able to regenerate its atmosphere

 

NASA says scientists have discovered a planet that is very similar to Earth and could recreate its atmosphere.

Astronomers point out that a planet called GJ 1132 b was unimpressive when the Hubble Space Telescope was first spotted because of its rocky appearance and its atmosphere Its sun.

But they changed their minds after discovering that the planet's second atmosphere was above the surface of the volcano, about 41 light-years from Earth. That atmosphere is made up of hydrogen, hydrogen cyanide, methane, and smoke, similar to Earth's haze, and is sent to the atmosphere by active volcanic eruptions.

Initially, the upper planet was a gas planet surrounded by a thick layer of hydrogen, many times larger than Earth. But because it is exposed to too much sunlight, it gradually loses the atmosphere of hydrogen and helium.

Between densities, volumes, atmospheric pressure, as well as 4.5 million years of age and the formation of the hydrogen atmosphere, GJ 1132 b differs from Earth in that the orbit of GJ 1132 b is too close to its sun.
