According to Atlantic Campaigns, 21-year-old British woman Jasmine Harrison became the youngest woman to paddle across the Atlantic Ocean 3,000 miles (4,800 km) from Spain to the island of Antigua.
Harrison completed the 2020 Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge on Saturday in 70 days, 3 hours and 48 minutes, setting a new world record for the youngest woman to cross the ocean.
Harrison, from Thirsk, North Yorkshire, England, wrote on her website that she had the idea to participate in the competition when she watched the 2018 finals while teaching swimming in singles. Learn.
Atlantic Campaigns says Harrison has set a new world record for the youngest woman to paddle across the ocean alone.
She says she hopes to encourage young people that it is okay to do things alone, according to her Facebook page.
