Tycoon Hun Chea cuts hair for monkeys

On December 28, 2020, the Apsara Authority announced that some of the ferocious monkeys at Bayon Temple would be released into the forest outside Angkor Park due to the herd of some ferocious monkeys. Humans and human feeding turned from wild animals to pets.

Through this, the monkeys came out to forage in the temple area as well. In search of food, the monkeys snatch food from humans, causing annoyance and sometimes directly affecting visitors. In addition, the monkeys also pose a risk to the temple, such as pushing the rock fall and damaging other information banners. This needs to be removed to avoid future problems.

In this regard, the APSARA Authority, in cooperation with the Forestry Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, will capture the ferocious monkeys from the Angkor area for breeding before releasing them into other natural forests besides Angkor Park. According to the project, this work will start from the afternoon of December 28, 2020 at Bayon Temple.

Chou Radina, deputy director of the Department of Forest Management, Landscape, Culture and Environment of the APSARA Authority, said he did not yet know the exact number of monkeys to be exported. He added that this work is in collaboration with the Forestry Administration, which has specialized officers to ensure that the capture of monkeys from the Angkor area is highly secure.

After the Apsara Authority cooperated with the relevant officials to launch an operation to catch the monkeys from the Angkor area, the public reacted with great dissatisfaction for various reasons.

Meanwhile, Mr. Oknha Hun Chea, while the public is reacting to the capture of monkeys from the Angkor area, he posted a video clip on his official Facebook account, showing that he was cutting his hair. Loy monkeys bury the series at once.
