Ministry of Water Resources warns of the effects of the 11th typhoon on Cambodia, causing continued rain and flooding in coastal areas


 The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology has warned of the effects of a new typhoon, NOUL, on Cambodia, which could cause heavy rains and flooding in coastal provinces. This is according to the announcement of the Ministry of Water Resources on the situation of the 11th storm (NOUL), which was received on September 16, 2020.

According to the announcement, the 11th typhoon (NOUL) passed through the Philippines at 1 am on September 16, 2020. The storm is forecast to make landfall in central Da Nang, central Vietnam on September 18, 2020 and continue into the Mekong Delta in Laos and Thailand.

In this way, the weather in Cambodia from September 18 to 20 will be as follows:

First, the provinces in the central lowlands will receive moderate to heavy rainfall.

Second, the provinces adjacent to the Dangrek Mountains and the Northeastern Highlands will be able to receive moderate to heavy rainfall along with moderate winds and high risk of flash flood.

Third, the coastal areas and on the sea surface will be likely to receive heavy rainfall, facing flash flood with strong winds and high waves.

Fourth, the water level of the Mekong River began to rise slightly.
