SINGAPORE - A sixth-grader has become the youngest tattooist in Singapore and more than a dozen clients in 2019, Sin Chew Daily reported.
Lilith Siow told Sin Chew Daily that she learned the art from her father, Joseph, who ran a tattoo business in Haigland for more than 20 years.
The 12-year-old spent weekends and vacations to learn from her father and was only able to learn the skills for six months.
She said her first client was a friend of her father, who wanted to have a tattoo. For the first time, she admitted she was really nervous and took up to 90 minutes to complete a tattoo.
"At first I was really scared," she said. "We can remove the paint when we paint, but if we have a tattoo it will last a lifetime.
However, the practice has made the girl a lot better, and she has already tattooed over ten clients since then.
"Tattoos are like 'the art of painting', but many people mistakenly assume that people with tattoos are bad.
Her father said he will continue to train and teach Lilith to create new tattoos and also plans to buy lighter tattoos for her.
